HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Former Juniata College track and field All-American Peggy Evans '85 is one of six individuals featured in a public service announcement (PSA) appearing on nationally televised NFL preseason games in August.

USA Football, football's national governing body at the youth and amateur levels, sponsors the PSA. The 30-second message titled "I Played" demonstrates how football impacts the lives of Americans through their participation in the sport.

Evans grew up as a Pittsburgh Steelers fan in her hometown of Holiday Park, Pa., where she played "pick-up" football as a youngster. She played intramural football at Juniata College, where she graduated in 1985 after earning All-American honors in the triple jump in both 1984 and 1985, and won the Division III championship in the event as a senior. Evans also played volleyball and basketball during her collegiate career.

In 2003, Evans became the starting wide receiver for the Philadelphia Liberty Belles (now the Delaware Griffins) of the Independent Women's Football League. She currently works for Keller Williams Real Estate in West Chester, Pa.

The PSA was produced by NFL Films for USA Football. USA Football hosts nearly 100 football training events per year offering education for coaches and game officials, skill development for players, and resources for youth football league administrators. The independent non-profit manages U.S. national teams with the sport for international competitions. Endowed by the NFL and the NFL Players Association (NFLPA), USA Football is chaired by former U.S. Congressman and professional quarterback Jack Kemp.
