HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Women's soccer forward Caitlin Bigelow (La Mesa, Calif./Academy of Our Lady of Peace) and football defensive back Bryan Jung (Bethlehem, Pa./Notre Dame) have been named Juniata College's Athletes of the Week, for the week ending September 7, 2008.

Bigelow is being honored for her outstanding performance in leading the Eagles to two victories over Keystone College and Saint Vincent. She scored the game-winning goal in Juniata's 2-0 win over St. Vincent College, a victory that improved the Eagles' record to 3-0-0. Earlier in the week Bigelow scored twice in a lopsided 12-0 win over Keystone College. Bigelow tallied 11 shots for the week, eight of them on goal. Bigelow also earned Landmark Conference Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week honors, for her accomplishments against Keystone and St. Vincent.

Women's soccer will be hosting Gettysburg College this Saturday, Sept. 13, at 1:00 p.m. on Winton Hill Field in Huntingdon.

Jung recorded the first interception of his career in the second quarter of Juniata's loss to Allegheny College, returning the pick 30 yards for a touchdown. The TD, the first of Jung's career, cut the Gators' lead to 14-6 at the half. Jung finished the day with four tackles, three of them solo, with one tackle-for-loss.

The Eagle football team will take to the road this Saturday, facing Susquehanna University at 1:00 p.m. on Stagg Field at Lopardo Stadium in the 48th "Goalpost Game".
