HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College men's soccer team erupted for five goals in the second half on its way to an 8-0 shutout of Mount Aloysius College, Thursday afternoon on Winton Hill Field in Huntingdon, Pa.

Senior midfielder Fred McNeal (Towanda, Pa./Troy) scored two of Juniata's (4-3, 0-0 Landmark) second half goals. He notched his first in the 55th minute, heading the ball into the back of the goal off Noah Bowers' (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) set piece kick from the right side. McNeal picked up his second goal 10 minutes later to extend Juniata's lead to 7-0, with Kyle Roberts (Downingtown, Pa./Downingtown West) providing the assist.

McNeal's goals were sandwiched around a goal by Bowers, who blasted a direct kick around the right side of Mount Aloysius' defensive wall in the 62nd minute.

Jeremy Donaldson (Shrewsbury, Pa./Susquehannock) opened the second half scoring with a goal in the 52nd minute, while Evan LaTourrette (Stony Brook, N.Y./Ward Melville) closed out the game with a marker in the 80th minute.

In the first half, Andrew Steffen (Lewisberry, Pa./Red Land), David Grim (Boalsburg, Pa./State College Area), and Dan Allen (Bellefonte, Pa./Bellefonte) scored to give the Eagles a 3-0 lead at the half.

"Today was a good way for the guys to bounce back after last weekend's loss," said Juniata head coach Dan Dubois. "Mount Aloysius is a program that is basically starting over again, so they were very young and very inexperienced. Our guys were able to go out and dictate the pace of the game, and we were able to have a lot of guys contribute."

Freshman Boddhi Karzen (Makawao, Hawaii/Seabury Hall) made his first collegiate start, but was not challenged by a single shot over 90 minutes in goal. Mounties keeper Anderson Harrison recorded 10 saves for Mount Aloysius, while allowing all eight goals.

Juniata will return to action again on Tuesday, Sept. 23, when it hosts Lycoming College at 4:30 p.m. in Huntingdon, Pa.
