BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- A pair of second half Juniata College goals lifted the Eagle field hockey team to a 3-1 win over Moravian College, Saturday afternoon in Bethlehem, Pa.

Molly Snyder's (Boalsburg, Pa./State College Area) goal nearly ten minutes into the second half, off an assist from Brittany Kauffman (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove), proved to be the game winner for Juniata, which improved to 3-7 overall with the win. Meghan McGlone (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh) added an unassisted insurance goal for the Eagles with 2:46 remaining in the second half.

Juniata took the initial lead in the game, thanks to a goal by Sam Smith (East Stroudsburg, Pa./East Stroudsburg) at the 9:54 mark of the first half. Kim Amrod (Ridgefield, Conn./Ridgefield) was credited with the assist.

The score remained 1-0 at the half, but Moravian knotted the game at 1-1 at the 25:07 mark of the second half on Damara Varney's goal off an assist by Julia Garofalo.

The Eagles retook the lead just 39 seconds later on Snyder's goal, and held the Greyhounds at bay for the win.

Juniata goalie Abby Funk (Lewisburg, Pa./Lewisburg) logged four saves while allowing one goal to earn the win, while Moravian goalie Maura Acox registered six saves. The Eagles outshot the Greyhounds 17-10 and had nine penalty corner opportunities in the match to Moravian's eight.

The Eagles return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 1, when they head to Frostburg, Md., to face Frostburg State. Game time is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
