(Posted October 11, 2008)
MADISON, N.J. -- The Juniata College women's soccer team allowed Drew University just one shot on goal, but the Rangers made it count for the only score of the game as they downed the visiting Eagles 1-0, Saturday afternoon in Madison, N.J.
Juniata (7-4-0, 1-2-0 Landmark) outshot Drew 8-5 in total shots, 2-1 in shots on goal, over the course of the 90 minute affair.
However Emily Weida's shot in the 28th minute, a rebound that was left loose inside the Juniata box, found the back of the net to give the Rangers a 1-0 lead.
Eagle keeper Lauren Auster-Gussman (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster Country Day) did not record a single save on the day, while Drew's Ann Mularz logged a pair of saves.
Juniata will have an immediate opportunity to get past the loss; the Eagles host Rutgers-Newark on Sunday, Oct. 12, at 2:00 p.m. on Winton Hill Field in Huntingdon, Pa.
