Women's swimming opens season with loss at Chatham

PITTSBURGH, Pa. â?" The Juniata College women's swimming team opened its 2008-09 season with a 139-94 loss to Chatham University, Saturday afternoon in Pittsburgh, Pa.
Kristin Musselman (Bloomsburg, Pa./Central Columbia) took first place for the Eagles in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 27.30, and was second in the 100 Freestyle in 59.97. Jessica Stocker (Buckfield, Maine/Lewiston) and Kelly Serfling (Frederick, Md./Urbana) were first in the 100 Butterfly (1:10.46) and the 200 Individual Medley (2:44.80) respectively.
Other second place finishes were posted by Lindsay Cooper (Altoona, Pa./Altoona) in the 100 Breaststroke (1:14.72), by Stocker in the 200 Butterfly (2:45.79), and by Catherine Stroup (Bedford, Pa./Bedford) in the 200 Backstroke (2:36.03).
Juniata's next meet is next Saturday, Nov. 1, when the Eagles face Millersville University and Cabrini College in a tri-meet in Millersville, Pa. Start time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
