Juniata track teams compete at WVU State Garm games

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. -- Juniata College junior Laura Rupprecht (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) finished fourth in the 800m run, while Meghan Jones (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) was fourth in the 5000m run, to highlight Eagle women's finishers at the West Virginia University State Farm Games, held Saturday in Morgantown, W.Va.
Rupprecht posted a time of 2:30.94 in the 800m, trailing only three runners from the University of Pittsburgh. Jones' time of 20:10.90 in the 5000m was behind a trio of runners from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
In the men's events, Ryan Baird (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) tied Duquesne University's Jonathan Dorph for first place in the pole vault, clearing the height of 4.05m on his second attempt. Patrick Filamor (Wanchai, Hong Kong) was fifth in the long jump with his best jump of 6.17m, while Ryan Johnson (Mountaintop, Pa./Crestwood) was fifth in the 35 lb. weight throw with a best throw of 12.29m
On the track, Tripp Rudolph (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) was sixth in the 800m run with a time of 2:02.53, while Sam Williams was third among six runners in the 3000m run with a time of 9:43.32.
