KINGS POINT, N.Y. -- Juniata College sophomore Lindsay Cooper (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) finished 10th in the finals of the 50 yard freestyle, while two Eagle relay teams also scored points to highlight day one results at the Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, which opened Friday. The championships are being held at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings Point, N.Y.

Cooper earned three points for the Eagles with her finish in the 50 Free, posting a time of 26.44 seconds.

Juniata's 200 Free Relay squad earned 20 points for the Eagles with a fifth place finish. The Juniata quartet of Cooper, freshman Elise Ebert (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township), sophomore Rachel Gipe (Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal School), and freshman Jessica Stocker (Buckfield, Maine/Lewiston) posted a time of 1:49.90.

The Eagles picked up another 18 points in the 400 Medley Relay, as the team of freshman Marysa Milinichik (Whitehall, Pa./Whitehall), Cooper, Stocker, and Gipe logged a time of 4:32.07 - shaving nearly 16 seconds off their seeding time.

After the first day of competition, Juniata is in seventh place with 41 points. The University of Scranton leads the field with 199 points, followed by Catholic University (96 pts.), Susquehanna University (90 pts.), Goucher College (78 pts.), Drew University (59 pts.), and USMMA (57 pts.), followed by Juniata.
