MEN'S VOLLEYBALL (8-8, 5-6 EIVA Tait): Mar. 26 at St. Francis (Pa.); Mar. 29 at Princeton;
Mar. 30 at New York University
The Eagles got 19 kills, a .500 hitting percentage, five blocks and two digs from sophomore opposite Javier Garcia (San Ignacio/Guaynabo, Puerto Rico), who led Juniata to a 30-27, 30-23, 30-27, upset over visiting George Mason on Friday evening during Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Tait Division action. The victory for Juniata was the first over the Patriots in the past five tries. Earlier this year, George Mason had downed Juniata in Fairfax, Va., 30-24, 30-26, 30-25. In addition to Garcia's effort, junior outside hitter Neil Lukas (Fairport/Fairport, NY) had 11 kills, a .412 hitting percentage, one dig and one block for Juniata. Sophomore outside hitter Ryan Genova (Antietam/Reading) added in eight kills, two rejections, two aces and one dig, while sophomore middle hitter Kenny Eiser (Central Bucks West/Doylestown) had 10 block (two solo), four kills and one dig. Junior setter Scott Kofmehl (North Allegheny/Pittsburgh) dished out 39 assists, had three kills, three blocks and one dig. Kofmehl ran an offense that hit .432 compared to George Mason's .206 team hitting percentage. The Eagles also enjoyed a 13-4 advantage in blocks.

MEN'S TENNIS (1-3, 0-1 MAC Commonwealth): Mar. 27, Messiah.
Juniata hosted Lycoming on Tuesday and lost to the Warriors, 6-1. Freshman David Bullock (Central Bucks East/Jamison) posted a 6-2, 6-3 victory at third singles for his first win of the year. On Sunday, the Eagles journeyed to Pitt-Greensburg and registered a 5-4 win over the Bobcats. Junior Satoshi Kimura (L.B. Pearson College (CA)/Nasano, Japan) won at first singles, 6-1, 6-0 and paired with sophomore Scott Noerr (Lewistown/Lewistown) for an 8-1 pro-set win at first doubles. Noerr was victorious at second singles in what turned out to be a crucial come-from-behind triumph, 4-6, 6-0, 6-3. Senior Ethan Gibbel (Warwick/Lititz) earned a 6-3, 6-2 win at fourth singles and was paired with Bullock during their 8-3 triumph at second doubles.

BASEBALL (8-8, 2-3 Commonwealth): Mar. 26, Penn State-Altoona (2); Mar. 27, Messiah;
Mar. 29, Elizabethtown; Mar. 30 at Elizabethtown (2).
Juniata had its single-game with Messiah scheduled for Friday, postponed due to bad weather. The outing has been rescheduled for this coming Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. Juniata was held to just three hits by Messiah pitching in two games combined on Satuirday afternoon during a pair of 3-0 losses in Commonwealth Conference action. The Eagles were limited to two hits and no runs in the opener, while the Falcons permitted just one safety in the second tilt. In the first game of the day, senior catcher Matt Slagel (Spring Grove/Spring Grove) was 1 for 3 with a double. In the second contest, senior center fielder Lucas Kelleher (Bishop Guilfoyle/Altoona) had a single in the top of the sixth to breakup a no-hitter at the time. He was 1 for 3 for Juniata.

SOFTBALL (4-4, 1-1 Commonwealth): Mar. 25 at Penn State-Altoona (2); Mar. 26, Lebanon Valley (2);
Mar. 28 at Bethany (2).
The Eagles had a pair of doubleheaders from the week postponed and no make up dates have been selected as of yet. Juniata was supposed to play Frostburg State on Monday and then Commonwealth foe Albright on Saturday, but both outings were called off due to poor field conditions and inclement weather.

MEN'S AND WOMEN'S TRACK AND FIELD: Mar. 30 at Susquehanna Invitational.
The Juniata men and women had their scheduled season-opening invitational at Clarion canceled due to inclement weather. It will not be made up.
