Juniata finishes seventh at Landmark Swimming & Diving Championships

KINGS POINT, N.Y. - Juniata College earned 29 more points on the final day of competition and finished in seventh place with 106 points at the 2009 Landmark Conference Swimming & Diving Championships, which concluded Sunday night in Kings Point, N.Y.
Sophomore Lindsay Cooper (Altoona, Pa./Altoona Area) finished sixth in the 100 yard Freestyle with a time of 57.13 seconds, earning nine points for the Eagles.
Cooper later swam the first leg for Juniata's fifth-place squad in the 400 Freestyle Relay, which posted a time of 3:57.85 seconds - nearly 13 seconds better than its seeding time. Joining Cooper in the 400 Free Relay were Elise Ebert (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township), Rachel Gipe (Portland, Ore./Oregon Episcopal School), and Jessica Stocker (Buckfield, Maine/Lewiston).
The University of Scranton won the Landmark Conference women's swimming & diving championship with 667 points, while Susquehanna University was second with 357 points. Trailing the Crusaders was Catholic University (337 pts.), Goucher College (268 pts.), Drew University (147 pts.), Merchant Marine (128 pts.), and Juniata.
