HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Lewis University hit .339 for the match while holding Juniata College to a .179 attack percentage and defeated the Eagles, 3-0, Saturday night at the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center. Set scores for Lewis were 30-18, 30-22, and 30-23.

Juniata (10-6, 4-3 EIVA) was led by junior outside hitter Zach Wanner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) and senior middle Dan Powers (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) with nine kills each, with Powers also leading the Eagles in total blocks with three.

Senior setter Matt Werle (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) logged 32 set assists for the Eagles, while junior libero Anthony Damiano (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) turned up 10 digs.

Nathan Klaas and Drew Pickering led the Flyers with 13 kills each. Klaas recorded four total blocks, while Billy Sahagian tallied five total blocks.

Juniata came closest to catching Lewis late in the third set. Trailing 19-12, the Eagles picked up three straight points off an Evan Halteman (Perkiomenville, Pa./Christopher Dock) kill, followed by a pair of attack errors by Lewis' Pickering. Following a side out kill by the Flyers' Alex Vigansky, Juniata tacked on two points with a Craig Harvey (Beverly, Mass./St. Johns Prep) kill and a Mike Kraft (York, Pa./Eastern York) service ace, cutting the deficit to 20-17.

However Lewis, ranked 11th in this week's Bison/AVCA Division I-II poll, picked up four of the next five points to stretch its lead to 24-18, and the Flyer maintained at least four points of separation the rest of the way.

Juniata returns to action on Tuesday, March 24, when it hosts Penn State at 7:00 p.m. in the Kennedy Sports + Recreation Center.
