LANDISVILLE, Pa. -- The Juniata College men's volleyball team rebounded from a first set loss to defeat East Stroudsburg University, 3-1, Wednesday night at Hempfield High School in Landisville, Pa. Set scores for Juniata were 28-30, 30-24, 30-19, and 30-28.

Playing in his former high school gym, Juniata junior outside hitter Zach Wanner (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) led the Eagles with 19 kills on 40 swings, including a kill on match point to seal the victory and improve Juniata's record to 15-7.

Two other Lancaster area products also had solid performances for the Eagles. Senior middle hitter Dan Powers (Lancaster, Pa./Manheim Township) recorded 16 kills against only two errors on 27 swings for a .519 attack percentage, while junior libero Anthony Damiano (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township) finished with a team-high eight digs for Juniata.

Junior middle Evan Halteman (Perkiomenville, Pa./Christopher Dock) hit .688 for the match with 12 kills and one error on 16 total attempts, to go with his five total blocks, while senior setter Matt Werle (Meadville, Pa./Meadville) had 53 assists as well as five total blocks.

Jon Daley led East Stroudsburg with 18 kills, and was joined in double digits by Don Hanna with 12 terminations and Chris Holden with 11.

Juniata hit .331 for the match against East Stroudsburg's .206, and outblocked the Warriors, 12.5 to 4.5. East Stroudsburg handed away a full set, 30 points, on attack errors, however Juniata committed 22 service errors to aid the Warrior cause.

The Eagles will have eight days to prepare for their first post-season match, when they face Ramapo College in the semifinals of the 2009 Molten Invitational on Friday, April 17, in Mahwah, N.J.
