LEWISBURG, Pa. -- Juniata's field athletes turned in solid performances against competition ranging across NCAA Divisions I, II and III, at the Bucknell University Bison Outdoor Classic, Friday and Saturday at Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium.

Sophomore Stephanie Varner (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) had the highest overall finish by any Juniata athlete with her fourth place finish in the women's pole vault, clearing the bar at 10-6. Senior Kelsey Buffenmyer (Mount Joy, Pa./Donegal) was 11th in the high jump with a mark of 5-1. Newcomer Kristyn Ginter (Tyrone, Pa./Bellwood-Antis) was eighth in the javelin with a throw of 116-03.

On the track, junior Laura Rupprecht (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) finished eighth in the 1500m run with a time of 4:51.65, and was 56th in the 800m run with a time of 2:24.49. Junior Melissa Johnson (Colonia, N.J./John F. Kennedy) was 17th in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:08.25, while senior Amy Reynolds' (Harpers Ferry, W.Va./Jefferson) time of 1:00.48 in the 400m run was good enough for 21st place.

The Juniata men were led by Ryan Baird's (North Huntingdon, Pa./Norwin) ninth place finish in the pole vault, with a mark of 13-9 1/4. Patrick Filamor (Wanchai, Hong Kong/Int'l School of Manila) was 14th in the long jump with a jump of 21-10.

On the track, Tripp Rudolph (Pittsburgh, Pa./Upper St. Clair) was 29th in the 800m run with a time of 1:56.68.
