HUNTINGDON, Pa.-- Laura Gajdosik's goal in the 69th minute proved to be the difference as Penn State-Altoona defeated Juniata College 1-0, in women's soccer action Tuesday afternoon on Winton Hill Field.

Leaving the first half scoreless, the two teams battled evenly until Gajdosik's unassisted shot penetrated the Juniata defense.

Juniata's Lauren Auster-Gussman (Lancaster, Pa./ Norwin) played all 90 minutes in the Eagle goal and managed to record 11 saves, but was defeated by Gajdosik's blast from just inside the 18 yard box.

Penn State-Altoona outshot Juniata 15- 5, and held a 6-4 advantage in corner kicks.

Juniata will have a pair of opportunities for redemption this weekend, as it returns to action at Penn State-Behrend's Herb Lauffer Memorial Tournament. The Eagles' first contest will be Saturday at 10 a.m. against Penn State-Behrend. Juniata will face either Baldwin-Wallace or Geneseo State in Sunday's consolation or championship.
