BETHLEHEM, Pa. -- Juniata College women's volleyball completed a three-match sweep of Landmark Conference rivals on Sunday, with a 3-0 win over the United States Merchant Marine Academy on Sunday afternoon at Moravian College's Breidegam Fieldhouse.

Set scores for the Eagles were 25-10, 25-15, and 25-21.

The win gave Juniata (15-2) a perfect 3-0 mark in the first of two Landmark round robin weekends, following 3-0 wins over both Goucher College and Catholic University on Saturday. The Eagles will face the remaining three teams in the conference - Susquehanna University, Moravian College, and the University of Scranton - in two weeks in Washington, D.C.

Freshman middle Ashley Schnader (Reinholds, Pa./Garden Spot) led the Eagles offensively with six kills on 12 swings for a .417 hitting percentage, and had a hand in three total blocks. Senior outside hitter Michelle Morchesky (Greensburg, Pa./Hempfield Area) tacked on another five kills, while Collin Wallace (West Chester, Pa./West Chester East) and Paige Johnston (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) had five terminations each.

Rookie setter Shelby Cassell (Grantham, Pa./Mechanicsburg) ran a Juniata offense that hit .237 for the match, and logged 16 assists.

The defense was paced by senior libero Megan Sollenberger (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) with 10 digs.

The Mariners (8-9, 0-4 Landmark) hit -.073 for the match, and were led by Jessica Tyack and Jess LaValley with six kills each. LaValley also recorded three points at the net on blocks.

The win advanced Juniata head coach Larry Bock's career record with Juniata women's volleyball to 1,197 wins with 184 losses, setting the stage for Bock to potentially break the 1,200-win mark next weekend at the Christopher Newport University Invitational in Newport News, Va.

The Eagles open play in the CNU Invitational next Friday, Oct. 9, at 5:00 p.m. against Randolph-Macon College. Juniata will then face the host Christopher Newport squad at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening. Saturday's opponents will be University of Mary Washington at 11:00 a.m., followed by Salisbury University at 1:00 p.m.
