HUNTINGDON, Pa. - The Juniata College field hockey team extended its winning streak to seven games last week and had two shutout victories, due in large part to Meghan McGlone (Coopersburg, Pa./Southern Lehigh). That effort earned McGlone Landmark Conference Defensive Player of the Week.
The team started the week beating Frostburg State University, 6-0, on Wednesday, Sept. 30, and finished with a 5-0 victory over Moravian College on Saturday. McGlone led the defense with three defensive saves over the two games.
Against Frostburg State she recorded one defensive save, and saved two shots from hitting the back of the cage against Moravian. She also added an assist to the game-winning goal five minutes into the contest against the Greyhounds.
McGlone and the Eagles return to action when they take on the Crusaders of Susquehanna University on Wednesday, October 7 on Winton Hill Field.
