WASHINGTON, D.C - Juniata College fell to the regionally seventh ranked Cardinals of Catholic University, 3-0, Saturday afternoon in Washington, D.C. in men's soccer action.

Two goals in the first half separated by a minute and 28 seconds had the Eagles in an early hole that they could not come back from.

Brian Maher scored, beating Joe Kohler (Vienna, Va./James Madison) to the far right post from the left side of the field in the 22nd minute. Mike Brennan scored just over a minute later with a shot that narrowly escaped the cross bar with the assist credited to Tim Brady.

Michael DiMarco capped the scoring 75:45 into the contest with an unassisted goal, chipping the ball over Kohler's head for the final goal.

Kohler played all 90 minutes in goal for the Eagles and made six saves. Quinn Daly played over 78 minutes in goal for the Cardinals, stopping four shots. Thomas O'Leary came in for the rest of the contest, and did not record a save.

Catholic (10-2-0, 2-1-0) out shot the Eagles 18-10 and narrowly out cornered them 7-5.

Juniata (5-7-0, 1-3-0) gets a days rest before taking on Hood College on Monday, Oct. 12 at 4 p.m. on Winton Hill Field.
