HUNTINGDON, Pa. - After a five week hiatus, the Juniata College women's volleyball team once again sits atop the American Volleyball Coaches Association Division III Top 25 poll.

The Eagles collected 14 first place votes and totaled 590 points to leap ahead of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, who had been holding the number one slot for five weeks. Juniata went 4-0 this week while Oshkosh stumbled over no. 6 Wisconsin-Whitewater in four sets for their first loss of the season.

Wisconsin-Oshkosh tallied nine first place votes but dropped to no. 2. Washington-St. Louis received the other first place vote and 563 total points to tie Wisconsin-Oshkosh, but the number of first place votes places Washington-St. Louis third. Emory University holds at no. 4 gathering 531 points. Hope College moves up one spot with 468 to round out the top five.

Wisconsin-Whitewater (458), Ohio Northern (448), Wittenberg (412), Carthage (391), and St. Thomas, Minn. (381) finished sixth through tenth, respectively.

Juniata (27-2, 6-0) travels to Texas this weekend to take aim at three nationally ranked opponents. They will open the Trinity University National Invitational on Friday, Oct. 30, against no. 18 Trinity. Saturday will feature two top 10 teams, first against no. 8 Wittenberg, and finishing with no. 2 Wisconsin-Oshkosh in the night cap.
