Johnson named to Women's Soccer All-Landmark squad
(Posted November 12, 2009)
HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College senior back Melissa Johnson (Colonia, N.J./John F. Kennedy) was a Second team selection on the All-Landmark Conference squads, which were announced Thursday afternoon.
Johnson is a two-time All-Landmark honoree, after earning First team All-Landmark Conference honors in 2008. She tallied one assist this season â?" on the lone goal in Juniata's 1-0 win over Goucher College. However it was her dazzling speed on the Juniata backline that earned her a spot on the All-Landmark team, as she ran down opposing attackers on breakaways time-and-time again.
Johnson is also the only Juniata student-athlete to earn All-Landmark Conference honors in two different sports; she also earned First team All-Landmark Conference honors in track and field (both indoor and outdoor seasons) in 2008-09.
The Eagles finished their 2009 season with a 5-12-0 overall mark, 1-5-0 in the Landmark Conference.
