Indoor track and field competes in WVU Holiday Classic

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - In the first meet of the indoor season, the men and women's indoor track team traveled to Morgantown, W. Va., to compete in the 2009 West Virginia University Holiday Classic on Saturday afternoon.
The top individual performance for the women was newcomer Angela Shaffer who placed third in the women's 60-meter hurdles.
T.J. Breya finished second in preliminary event of the men's 60-meter hurdles to finish as the top male performance for Juniata.
Other top performers on the day were Ryan Baird who finished in 6th place in the pole vault with a height of 4.11 meters. Lauren Taylor cleared 2.74 meters in the finals of the women's pole vault to finish in sixth place.
The WVU Holiday Classic included NCAA Division I schools such as West Virginia University and Duquesne University, Division II schools Seton Hill University, Glenville State University, and a host of Division III programs.
Both teams return to the track January 23, when they travel to Susquehanna University to compete in the Susquehanna Orange & Maroon Classic starting at 10 a.m.
