Huntingdon, Pa. - Tim Dobson (Millville/Millville, NJ), a senior first baseman on the Juniata College baseball team has been named Commonwealth Conference Player of the Week. It is the first time this year that he has earned the recognition.

Dobson swatted three home runs and four doubles, drove in 11 runs and scored eight more during a week that saw him bat .500 for a six-game span. Within the seven-day stretch, he moved into first place on the career home run list at Juniata. He now has 26 in his four-year tenure. He also established records for single-season home run (11) and single-season RBI (42).

He was 2 for 5 with two runs scored, an RBI, and a stolen base during Juniata's 6-3 win at Frostburg on Tuesday. On Thursday, in the first game of a doubleheader with Penn State-Altoona and a 14-7 Eagle win, Dobson was 2 for 2 with a pair of walks, three runs scored, four RBI and a home run. During a 6-0 win at Susquehanna on Friday, Dobson knocked in four of the team's runs after going 3 for 4 with two doubles and a home run. He scored one time as well. In the first game of Saturday's doubleheader with Susquehanna, Dobson was 1 for 2 with a homerun in a 6-5 Juniata win, while in the nightcap, he was 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI when the Eagles won, 13-6.

For the year, he is hitting .397 with 52 hits during 131 at-bats. He has scored 33 runs, and currently leads the Eagles in home runs, RBI, walks (23) and stolen bases (12). In the field, Dobson has committed just one error in 290 chances for a .997 fielding percentage.

Juniata is currently 19-19 overall and ended the conference season just one game out of the playoffs at 11-10 in the Commonwealth. The Eagles will play host to Pitt-Bradford on Friday at 1:00 p.m. It has not been determined whether the game will be a single, nine-inning affair, or a doubleheader.
