HUNTINGDON, Pa. - Despite a 3-0 loss to Ohio State University, the Juniata College men's volleyball team remains the number one Division III team according to the AVCA Division III Men's Coaches Poll, released yesterday.

The loss drops the Eagles to 0-1 overall, but they still received 14 first place votes, totaling 238 points.

UC Santa Cruz moved up one spot to no. 2 with 226 points, and received the other two first place votes. They are 4-2 overall and beat last week's number two team, Springfield.

Springfield is third, receiving 205 points. They are 0-2 overall. Rounding out the top five is Stevens (184), and NYU (167).

Moving up a spot to number six is Rivier (158), after a 2-0 week. Nazareth (146) dropped a spot to no. 7, but has yet to play a game. Cathage (133) also moved up one spot to eighth. Rounding out the top ten is Vassar (113) and Baruch (90).

The remaining of the top 15 is: Philadelphia Biblical (80), Ramapo (71), MSOE (48), MIT (28), Emmanuel (16) and Endicott (16) are tied for fifteenth.

Juniata returns to the court on Saturday, when they host Harvard in an EIVA matchup starting at 7 p.m.

The next AVCA Top 15 poll will be conducted on January 26.
