WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- Juniata College's Dustin Drake (Mount Union, Pa./Mount Union) made the provisional qualifying mark in the javelin for the 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, with his performance Friday at the Wake Forest Open track and field meet.

Drake finished seventh overall in the javelin competition with a throw of 59.77m (196-01), breaking the provisional mark of 57.80m (189-7). Should Drake's provisional mark hold through the outdoor season, it would give the sophomore thrower his second straight trip to the NCAA outdoor meet. Drake qualified for the NCAA outdoor championships last season, his freshman campaign, with a mark of 60.82m (199-6).

The 2010 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships will be held May 27-29 at Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, Ohio.

Among other Juniata finishers, senior Matt Bailey (East Petersburg, Pa./Hempfield) finished 17th in the 3000m run with a time of 8:59.37. He becomes the first Juniata man to run a sub-9:00 time in the event.

In other track events, Laura Rupprecht (Jefferson, Md./Brunswick) finished 41st in the 800m run with a time of 2:24.43, while Caroline Morgan (Havertown, Pa./Haverford Township) was 42nd in the 3000m with a mark of 11:43.68. Courtney DeGemmis (Lansdale, Pa./Methacton) was 65th in the 400m in a time of 1:03.89. On the men's side, TJ Breya (McClure, Pa./East Juniata) was 45th in the 400m posting a time of 50.60.
