Men's Volleyball Places Four on EIVA Division III All-Star Squad

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The EIVA Conferences recognized nine individuals, four of which were Juniata players, and were awarded Division III All-Star honors for the 2010 season, which was decided on April 8. Anthony Damiano (Lititz, Pa./Manheim Township), Evan Halteman (Perkiomenville, Pa./Christopher Dock),Zach Wanner(Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield), and Ben Wolff(Meadville, Pa./Meadville) all landed a spot on this team for their play throughout this season.
Damiano has the second highest number of career digs in Juniata program history, and the most digs in program history within the rally scoring era with 751 total digs. He tallied 270 digs for the 2010 season, leading the team in digs. Last season Damiano was named to the EIVA All-East Second Team as well as a Molten Invitational All-Tournament Team selection.
Halteman is second on the team with 234 total kills (2.83 kills per set) and a .400 cumulative hitting percentage. In his four seasons, Halteman logged 614 kills and .392 career hitting percentage. He tallied 12 solo blocks and 50 blocking assists for the season and bringing his career total to 34 solo blocks and 176 blocking assists. He added 25 digs for the season. In 2009 Halteman was named to the AVCA Division III Men's Second Team All-America and the EIVA Division III All-Star team.
Wanner leads the team in kills, kills per set and service aces. Wanner accumulated 325 kills with 3.92 per set, moving his career kills to 964 with a .205 overall hitting percentage. He also recorded 22 service aces this season bring his career total to 58 aces. Wanner had second high digs during the 2010 season with 169 digs totally 378 for his career. Wanner was named EIVA Player of the Week (February 15) for his performances against Rutgers-Newark and EIVA Tait opponent George Mason. Last season Wanner was named to the EIVA All-East Second and to the 2009 Molten Invitational All-Tournament Team.
Wolff is fourth on the team with 202 season kills and a .397 attack percentage. Wolff logged 203 career kills in his two seasons of play. He is second in service aces with 17 aces. Wolff recorded 42 digs for the 2010 season. He leads the team with 73 total blocks, 7 solo blocks and 66 blocking assists.
Recently, Juniata closed out its 2010 season with 1-3 loss to George Mason University
