FREDERICK, Md. -- Juniata College midfielder Luke Waddell's (Muncy, Pa./Muncy) goal in the 48th minute lifted the Eagles men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over Hood College, Sunday afternoon at the Thomas Athletic Field.

Waddell buried a rebound off an attempt by Noah Bowers (Mechanicsburg, Pa./Cumberland Valley) nearly three minutes into the second half, beating Hood keeper William Lane.

The goal led a second half dominated by the Eagles, who outshot the Blazers 14-12 over the entire match but had a 9-4 advantage in shots over the second 45-minute frame. Juniata had a commanding 8-0 advantage in corner kick opportunities, and finished with nine corner kicks to Hood's two.

Juniata keeper Joe Kohler (Vienna, Va./James Madison) recorded five saves while playing all 90 minutes in the Eagle goal, while posting his second solo shutout of the season and the third of his career. Lane logged four saves over 90 minutes in the Hood (2-2) goal.

Juniata (4-1) plays just its second home game of the season this Wednesday, Sept. 15, when it hosts Delaware Valley College at 4:00 p.m. on Winton Hill Field.
