PITTSBURGH, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's swimming team swept Salem University 116-17, yet fell to Chatham University 210-53 and Millersville University 201.5-52.5 at the Chatham Invitational Saturday afternoon.

Evan Beatty (Hershey, Pa./Hershey) kicked off Juniata's first event for the day with the 1000 Freestyle, finishing in fourth place with a time of 12:07.04. Beatty also placed fourth in the 500 Freestyle posting 5:51.60.

Kathryn Viola (Doylestown, Pa./Central Bucks East) was a double winner for the day and was second runner up for Swimmer of the Meet. She captured first in the 100 Breaststroke in 1:12.94, edging Millersville's Bre Martinez by almost a full second. She finished the 200 Breaststroke in 2:38.25.

Kelsey Miles (Huntingdon, Pa./Huntingdon Area) tied for sixth place in the 200 Freestyle with a final time of 2:11.15. Miles also placed seventh for the 100 Freestyle in 1:00.07.

Falon Snyder (Walnutport, Pa./Allentown Central Catholic) placed second in the 100 Backstroke 1:05.98, coming in just milliseconds after Chatham's Carly Hicks. Snyder was third in the 200 Backstroke at 2:19.85, and seventh in the 100 Butterfly 1:08.89

Miles, Snyder, Beatty and Viola comprised the Eagles' team in the 400 Freestyle Relay. The team came in third in the last event of the day, posting a time of 4:08.34.

Juniata returns to the pool next Saturday, Nov. 13, when it travels to Scranton, Pa. to face the Univ. of Scranton and Goucher College at 1:00 p.m.
