HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College women's track and field squad has been picked to finish third in this season's Landmark Conference indoor championship, according to preseason balloting among the conference's head coaches and sports information directors released Friday.

Juniata, which has finished third at the Landmark indoor meet in each of the past three seasons, was tabbed to finish third again in 2011 with 30 points in the voting.

Three-time Landmark champion Moravian College received 44 points to finish atop the poll. Susquehanna University was picked to finish second, receiving 38 points.

Trailing Juniata was Catholic University of America with 26 points, followed by Goucher College with 18 points, and the United States Merchant Marine Academy with nine points.

Sophomore Angela Shaffer (Prospect, Pa./Slippery Rock), the 2010 Landmark Indoor Track and Field Rookie of the Year, headlines the list of Juniata performers for 2011. Shaffer won the high jump and finished second the 55m hurdles at the 2010 Landmark indoor meet.

Also returning is a quartet of Juniata distance runners â?" Caroline Morgan (Havertown, Pa./Haverford Township), Courtney DeGemmis (Lansdale, Pa./Methacton), Casey Hoffman (Coplay, Pa./Parkland), and Megan McQuillan (Severna Park, Md./Seton Keough) â?" who took Second team All-Landmark honors in the distance medley relay in 2010.

Juniata resumes competition in indoor track and field on January 22, 2011, when it competes at the West Virginia University State Farm Shell Games in Morgantown, W.Va.
