HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Juniata College field hockey fell to No. 17 in the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III Coaches Poll, released Tuesday.

Originally slated at No. 16 in the preseason poll, the Eagles currently hold a 3-1 overall record and earned 154 points in this week's poll.

Catholic University of America (3-0), the only other Landmark Conference institution to earn a spot in the poll, jumped from their slated No. 18 spot on the preseason poll to No. 11, with 253 points. Salisbury University (4-0), who Juniata fell to last weekend in the Salisbury University Invitational, bettered its poll standing going from fourth to second with 593 points and six first place votes. With ten first place votes and 620 points, Juniata foe Messiah College (2-0) improved to No. 1 in the coaches poll. The College of New Jersey (2-0), another Juniata opponent, earned 402 points moving them up the ranks to No. 6 from their No. 8 preseason spot.

Juniata next faces No. 1 Messiah College at Saint Francis University on Friday, Sept. 16 at 6:00 p.m.
