HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- The Juniata College Concert Band will hold a spring concert at 3 p.m., Sunday, April 15 in Rosenberger Auditorium in the Halbritter Center for the Performing Arts.

Tickets are $5 for adults and are free for those under 18 and Juniata students with a current student I.D.

First, the band will play "America the Beautiful," originally composed by American composer Samuel Ward, arranged by Larry Daehn. Originally writtento the tune of "O Mother dear, Jerusalem," the piece was later combined with lyrics that English professor Katharine Lee Bates wrote in 1893 commemorating sights Bates saw on her way out to Colorado College to teach a summer session.

Next the band will play "Country Wildflowers," by Larry Daehn, another American composer from Wisconsin. "Parade of the Tall Ships" by acclaimed jazz composer Jay Chattaway will follow. Chattaway composed music for the "Star Trek" TV series, along with scores for dozens of films.

The band will then play John Williams' "Out of this World," most famously performed by the Boston Pops. Williams composed the soundtracks for both "E.T." and "Star Wars."
