HUNTINGDON, Pa.— Money Magazine has named Juniata College as one of “America’s Best Colleges” in its Best Colleges of 2024 recognition. With the goal to help families make informed college decisions, Money reviewed more than 2,400 U.S. four-year colleges and universities for such factors as quality of education, affordability, and graduate outcomes. Money’s analysis resulted in 745 colleges and universities being chosen as the best colleges in the United States.

“Juniata College’s consistent recognition by national publications is a testament to the outstanding work of our faculty and staff. The collective commitment to student success is a point of pride for our institution,” said James Troha, president of Juniata College. “Juniata is a powerful place that changes lives.”

Money highlighted Juniata College’s successful graduation rates, strong early career earnings among graduates, and 100% of students receiving financial aid. Juniata consistently scores best in rankings associated with educational quality and social mobility. Nearly a quarter of Juniata’s student body is Pell eligible or a first-generation college student.

“Juniata’s academic excellence is defined by a spirit of intellectual engagement cultivated by the breadth and depth of the teaching and scholarship of our exceptionally dedicated faculty,” said Lauren Bowen, provost of Juniata College. “Students benefit from a rich array of opportunities inside and outside the classroom, all designed to engage them in meaningful connection with the wider community and world.”

The 2023-2024 U.S. News & World Report rankings of best liberal arts colleges in the U.S. placed Juniata 82 overall and 16 in the category of social mobility (determined by enrolling and graduating students facing financial barriers). Similarly, The Princeton Review named Juniata as one of the best colleges in the nation, sixth for most accessible professors, and number 25 for great financial aid. The Washington Monthly magazine’s rankings placed Juniata at 38 for liberal arts colleges in their 2023 publication.

More than 4,000 colleges and universities operate in the United States, and only the very best, the top 10 to 20 percent, are ranked by most ranking systems. Out of the nation’s more than 200 liberal arts institutions, Juniata consistently distinguishes itself as a place where students learn to succeed in their lives and careers, navigate the global community, and design lives of meaning.
