HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Juniata College will host Judge Michael H. Wojcik, who has served as a Pennsylvania Commonwealth Court Judge since 2016, at 4:45 p.m. on Monday, October 13, 2025, in Ellis Ballroom, Ellis Hall. Judge Wojcik will present, "From Juniata College to the Commonwealth Court." 

This event is free and open to the public. 

The Commonwealth Court handles cases involving state and local governments and lawsuits against the state.  Judge Wojcik is at the end of his 10-year term.  He is on the November 4 ballot as a nonpartisan candidate for retention.  If a majority of voters select are “yes,” he will retain his seat on the Commonwealth Court for another ten years. If a majority votes “no,” the seat will be filled by someone else in a future election. 

Judge Wojcik graduated from Juniata in 1986 with a degree in pre-law and American studies before earning his juris doctor from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. He has practiced law since 1989 in a variety of settings, including small, medium-sized, and large law firms.  

Judge Wojcik brings to the bench a wealth of experience developed over a distinguished legal career spanning more than three decades. His professional background spans a broad range of practice areas, including tax, civil rights, personal injury, and municipal law.  

Before his election to the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania, Judge Wojcik held positions as of counsel at Clark Hill, senior counsel and partner at Thorp Reed & Armstrong, solicitor to the Allegheny County Controller, and partner at Weinberg & Stein. Earlier in his career, he served as an associate with both LeBoeuf, Lamb, Greene & MacRae and Kirkpatrick & Lockhart. 

According to the Judicial Evaluation Commission of the Pennsylvania Bar Association,  Judge Wojcik has earned the respect of attorneys, judges, and clients alike for his thoughtful and calm demeanor, his professionalism, and his commitment to excellence. The Commission praised his writing for being thorough, logical, and well researched, and his legal analysis for consistently demonstrating depth and precision. 

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Judge Wojcik is deeply engaged in his community. A dedicated member of the Boy Scouts of America, he has held several leadership roles, including service on the Board of Directors of the Laurel Highlands Council, as District Chair of the Lackawanna District, and as Committee Chair of Troop 646. A Life Member of the National Eagle Scout Association, he embodies the values of service and leadership both in and out of the courtroom.
