HUNTINGDON, Pa. — Two of Juniata College’s Mock Trial Teams have earned spots in the Opening Round of the National Championship Series, joining a select group of schools — including Princeton, Cornell, Duke, Ohio State, and Penn State — that field multiple teams at this national Tournament.

After victories at American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) regional tournaments, Juniata’s Blue Team and Gold Teams will compete March 14-15 in Hamilton, Ohio, at the historic Butler County Courthouse, hosted by Miami University.

“The fact that both of our teams have advanced to the Nationals speaks to the strength of our overall program for Mock Trial,” said Coach Attorney David Andrews ’74. “Our team members exemplify the fact that hard work and preparation obtain results in academic competitions.”

This season has been marked by remarkable success for Juniata’s Mock Trial program, with many students earning individual honors and recognition for outstanding performance. The Juniata Blue Team placed in every Tournament that it entered in this academic year. Their achievements reflect the depth of talent and dedication across both teams, highlighting the program as one of the premier in the nation.

128 teams of the 768 competing at the Regional Competitions advanced to the National Championship's Opening Round. Joining Juniata College’s Blue and Gold teams at Hamilton, Ohio, are teams from Princeton, Case Western Reserve, University of Toronto, University of Tennessee, Miami University, Penn State, Eastern Kentucky, University of Ohio, University of Kentucky, Duke, Duquesne, Radford, Franklin & Marshall, Ohio State, Cornell, and Lafayette.

A total of over 866 teams entered the American Mock Trial Association National Tournament at the start of the year, with playoff competitions taking place throughout the United States. Following the Opening Round, the remaining 48 teams will face off at the National Championships in Washington, D.C. on April 17-19, 2026.
