Juniata College Board of Trustees Welcomes New Members

HUNTINGDON, Pa.—The Juniata College Board of Trustees has welcomed three new members who will begin their service on September 1, 2026, for three-year terms. The new trustees bring expertise in law, business, human resources, and strategic planning to the College’s governing board.
The new trustees are Judge Marissa Gunn ’05 of Washington, D.C., Robert Cunnion III ’77 of Malibu, Calif., and Lisa (Masood) Giles ’80 of Kiawah Island, S.C.
Gunn was appointed as an administrative law judge for the District of Columbia Office of Administrative Hearings in 2021. She earned her bachelor’s degree in sociology, politics, and philosophy from Juniata College in 2005. Following graduation, she served as an AmeriCorps volunteer and worked as a case manager for a legal and social services organization in Washington, D.C. She earned her juris doctor from Howard University School of Law in 2009.
Cunnion earned his bachelor’s degree in business administration and management from Juniata College in 1977. Upon graduation, Cunnion spent the first ten years of his career at Ownings Corning in various human resource positions. He earned a master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management in 1985 and completed a human resources executive program at Stanford University in 1998. Cunnion retired in 2015 as senior vice president of human resources at The Ryland Group, where he had worked since 1988.
Giles is the founder and CEO of Giles & Associates Consultancy, which serves clients ranging from large health services companies to innovative life science start-ups. She earned her bachelor’s degree in business from Juniata College in 1980 and attended executive management programs at Stanford University and the University of Chicago. Giles previously served as U.S. director of strategic planning and business development and vice president of strategy development for G.D. Searle/Monsanto.
The Juniata College Board of Trustees provides leadership and oversight for the College, helping to advance its mission and long-term priorities. The Board is composed of alumni, parents, community leaders, and other members of the Juniata community who bring a range of professional and personal expertise to their service.
