HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Jazz is most often heard in dark, smoky clubs, but the Juniata College Jazz Ensemble will take their music outdoors in a lunchtime concert at 11:45 a.m., Wednesday, April 21 on Detwiler Plaza, the open space between Cloister residence hall and the Kennedy Sports and Recreation Center.

The concert is free and open to the public. In case of rain, the concert will be held in the ballroom of Ellis Hall.

The Juniata College Jazz Ensemble will perform an eclectic program of jazz compositions ranging from fusion classics to big band hits. The repertoire will include:
"Brass Machine," a composition by Mark Taylor; "Drip Dry;" "Gospel John," a tune made famous by Maynard Ferguson's band; "Do Nothin' Til You Hear from Me," a composition by Duke Ellington; "Chameleon," a jazz/funk hit written by Herbie Hancock; "Respect," written by Otis Redding and made famous by Aretha Franklin; and Desafinado," a bossa nova classic by Antonio Jobim.
