Huntingdon, PA - Juniata College placed 29 athletes on the Middle Atlantic Corporation (MAC) All-Academic team for the winter sports season. To be eligible for the award a student-athlete must be a sophomore, junior or senior, have a minimum 3.20 cumulative grade-point average and have completed the winter sports season still in good standing on their team.
Juniata had at leas four student-athletes honored from each of the five sports that compete in MAC play during the spring season.

The Juniata women's track squad led the way with seven athletes earning spots on the team. Senior Stefanie Rynkewitz (Lewistown/Lewistown) was the lone upperclassmen named from the women's track squad. She was joined by six sophomores as Carol Longenecker (Harrisonburg/Harrisonburg, Va.), Katey Glunt (Bellefonte/Bellefonte), Maria Welch (Jersey Shore/Avis), Nancy Hayes (Westminster/Westminster, Md.), Deborah Delaney (Franklin/Reisertown, Md.) and Jennifer Marshalek (Montoursville/Montoursville) all were named to the team.

Juniata's record-breaking baseball team had six student-athletes earn the MAC honor. Senior Adam Camberg (Altoona/Altoona) was named, as were juniors Matt Garner (Bellwood-Antis/Bellwood) and Jayme Fye (Philipsburg/Philipsburg). A trio of sophomores rounded out the baseball honorees as Troy Beaver (Bellwood-Antis/Bellwood), Walt Goedkoop (Manheim Township/Lancaster) and Will Russell (Tyrone Area/Tyrone) were selected.

The Eagle softball squad also placed six representatives on the team. Seniors Amber Helsel (Claysburg-Kimmel/Claysburg), Casandra Dutzer (Danville/Riverside) and Sarah Patterson (Danville/Danville) all received the honor. Junior Allison D'Ambrosia (State College/Boalsburg) and sophomores Jen Piston (Central Bucks East/Jamison) and Abby Sener (Donegal/Marietta) rounded out the softball players on the team.

The men's track team added six student-athletes of their own. Jeremy Weber (Garden Spot/Mohnton) and Jason Freeman (Thornton/Thornton, Co.) were selected from the junior class. The other four spots were held by sophomores Mike Vella (Hollidaysburg/Hollidaysburg), Adam Loser (Central York/York), Gary Ondecko, Jr. (Bishop Carroll/Northern Cambria) and James Serfass (Wellsboro/Wellsboro).

Finally, the Juniata men's tennis team saw four student-athletes earn spots on the MAC unit. Senior Satoshi Kimura (Tarsus American School/Nasano, Japan) and David Bullock (Central Bucks East/Jamison) were upperclassmen on the team. They were joined by sophomores Neil Eicher (Altoona/Altoona) and Jack Walfish (Spring-Ford/Royersford).
