Criminal Justice

Sociology class at Juniata College

The mission of Juniata College's program of emphasis (POE) in Criminal Justice is to educate students about the complexities and theoretical underpinnings of the U.S. criminal justice system in order to understand and analyze it in practice.

Grounded in the liberal arts, the focus will be on contextualizing critical analysis of the system, based on core U.S. values of justice and equality. Students will hone their analytic and problem-solving skills such that they can explore justice in its many dimensions, preparing them for careers in the public, private, and not-for-profit sectors as well as post-graduate study.
