Biography

A Little About Me

I embrace the idea that life is about exploring yourself and the world around you. I'd like to think the life I've lived reflects that.

I'm the proud partner of Jan Yelnosky, who I met at Juniata and have been married to for 40 years. I'm the proud parent of 2 children, Greg, 32, and Charlotte, 29.

I've lived in 7 states in the United States, I've visited every state, and I've traveled to 16 countries in North America, Asia, and Europe.

I've worked for 6 organizations, including 14 years with Owens Corning and 20 years with Juniata.

I've held over 20 different positions in the organizations I've served and have experience in nearly every functional area. Most significantly, I've served as a Plant Manager, Regional General Manager, Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Vice President for Finance and Operations, Chief Financial Officer, and Vice President for Enrollment.

I've been a member of 10 boards, including serving as the Chair of the Board of AAA Central Penn and the JC Blair Hospital Foundation.

I'm a passionate sports fan supporting the Pittsburgh Steelers as a season ticket holder for the past 25 years and as member of the Season Ticket Advisory Group. I also support Fulham in the Premier League, as well as the Pittsburgh Pirates, Penguins, Panthers and Riverhounds.

At Juniata, I've taught Behavioral Analysis of Organizations, Foundations of Entrepreneurship, First Year Foundations, Investing: Your Future, Introduction to Management and Senior Seminar.

During the 5 years I was retired I learned to brew beer, grow hops, tend to beehives, and took on a position as a journey manager, leading groups on tours of US National Parks, Alaska, Scotland and Ireland as well as many day trips.

I'm returning to the classroom this year as a proud Juniata alum who wants to engage with students and help create the kind of learning environment that sparked the curiosity that has helped to shape the life I've lived.
