Test Request

Where can I see a list of my test proctoring Checklists?

A list of pending and completed Checklists can be found on the Faculty Dashboard. It is suggested that you bookmark this dashboard so you can easily return to it at any time.

When should I complete the Checklist?

As soon as possible after receiving the notification email but no later than 24 hours before the exam is scheduled to begin. This notifies the Testing and Accessibility Coordinator that you are aware the exam will be proctored in the Testing Center. Even if you complete the checklist as soon as you receive it, you are still able to return to the Dashboard later to upload the exam.

I get so many emails. How can I be sure that I see notifications from Student Accessibility Testing Services?

You may create a rule to filter incoming notifications into a designated folder in Outlook.

Should I wait to complete the checklist until I have the exam ready to submit?

No. Please submit the checklist when you receive the email notification or as soon as possible. This informs the Testing and Accessibility Coordinator that you are aware of the exam request and outlines the exam and delivery details.

What are my options for submitting the exam to Testing Services?

You may email the exam directly to the Testing and Accessibility Coordinator, upload the exam via the Checklist when you complete it or drop the exam off at the Testing Office in Beeghly Library.

How can I upload the exam after submitting the Checklist?

Open the correct Checklist from your list on the Faculty Dashboard. Scroll to the Exam Delivery Options section and click the “Choose File” button. Select the exam and click “Upload”.

I uploaded the first quiz on a recurring test request. Can I upload subsequent on the via the same Checklist?

Yes. Open the correct Checklist from your list on the Faculty Dashboard. Scroll to the Exam Delivery Options section and click the “Choose File” button. Select the new quiz and click “Upload’. The new quiz file will replace the last file uploaded.

What are my options for receiving the exam from Testing Services?

You may pick up the exam from the Testing Office or have it delivered via Interdepartmental Mail. Picking up is suggested if time is a factor in grading as Interdepartmental Mail can take several days.

How do I drop off/pick up exams after hours?

Exams may be dropped off to/picked up from the locked file box at the library circulation desk.

How can I get the combination for the exam file box lock?

Please contact the Testing Coordinator for the file box combination.

How do I open the exam file box?

To open the combination lock: -
  1. Turn the dial RIGHT three times. Stop at the first number.
  2. Turn the dial LEFT one full turn passing the first number to stop at the second number.
  3. Turn the dial RIGHT to stop at the third number and pull the shackle.

Can the Testing Coordinator scan and email my exams?

No, scan and email is not an option for exam return at this time.

Can the Testing Coordinator email my exams if they were completed electronically?

Yes. If your student receives an accommodation allowing for written exam completion via word processing software, then the electronic answer file can be emailed upon request.

How does my student get access to audio/video files for an exam?

You may email audio/video files to the Testing Coordinator, upload them to YouTube, or share them via a cloud storage service such as OneDrive. Audio/video files are put on a flash drive and given to the student along with a non-internet connected laptop for playback.

How can students access YouTube if the laptop does not connect to the internet?

The Testing Coordinator downloads audio/video from YouTube and loads it onto a flash drive.

Do I need to provide scantron forms for my exams?

Yes. Scantron forms must be provided by faculty.

Do students have access to their belongings while testing?

No, students are required to leave all personal items in the Testing Office during exams. This includes all electronic devices such as laptops, tablets, cell phones, and smartwatches.

What are students allowed to take to the testing area?

Students are only allowed to take items specified on the faculty Checklist to the testing area.

What happens if I don’t submit my exam to the Testing Coordinator 24 hours before it is due to be administered?

The Testing Coordinator will send an email reminder asking for the exam to be submitted before the scheduled exam time.

What do I do if I notice a typo on an exam I submitted electronically?

Alert the Testing Coordinator to exam typos as soon as possible and submit the corrected exam.

Will the Testing Coordinator answer student questions about the exam?

No, the Testing Coordinator will answer student questions about the test proctoring process only. All questions regarding exam content will be directed to relevant faculty.

How do students contact me with exam questions?

The Testing Coordinator will contact you via one of the methods listed on the faculty Checklist.

Peer Note-Taking

I teach more than one section of a class. Does the note-taker have to be in the same section as the student requesting notes?

Ideally, the note-taking volunteer would be in the same section, but does not have to be as long as all sections are receiving the same information.
