Biography
Alex Berger
Master Clinical Intern
Alex is a clinical intern working with the counseling center for the fall ’20 semester. She is currently pursuing her master’s degree in clinical counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Alex has some experience working with college students from her graduate program, has also worked providing in-home care for people with disabilities, and as a patient sitter working with the elderly, individuals in substance withdrawal, and those with acute suicidal ideation. Once she earns her master’s degree she plans to pursue licensure and ultimately hopes to end up working with the college population. Alex utilizes Person-Centered and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive therapy practices, focusing around being present and grounded both in session and working to create a safe space for everyone that she works with. In her limited free time, Alex loves reading, practicing yoga or watching Netflix with her three children (yes, they are cats) and her partner, Seth.
