International applicants with TOEFL scores of 500-550 (173-212 Computer Based; 61 - 79 Internet-based TOEFL score) may, if otherwise qualified academically, be granted a Language-Based Conditional Acceptance, provided they attend Juniata's English for Academic Purposes (EAP). Students must complete the High Intermediate and/or Advanced level IEP courses with a “B” average and/or obtain a TOEFL score of 550 (213 Computer Based or 80 internet-based) in order to move to full-time degree program status. The student's English proficiency is evaluated by staff, and according to proficiency level attained, students may enroll in academic coursework on either a part-time or full-time basis. The IEP review committee in conjunction with the Registrar and the Student Academic Development Committee will make recommendations for continuation at Juniata. Continued English support is offered, as needed, to all international students throughout their degree program enrollment. For more information, please refer to the English for Academic Purposes section.
