Reciprocal /Scholar Program

Upon recommendation of their guidance counselor, students from Huntingdon Area high schools may take one course per semester at Juniata. This program was developed to allow high school students in good academic standing to take courses at Juniata College as part of the agreement for Juniata College Education majors to student teach in their school districts.

High School students may take up to four (4) courses during their high school career at a cost of $50.00 per credit plus any fees for labs, field trips, supplies and books.  The Reciprocal/Scholar Program does not include Internships, Credit by Exam, Independent Studies or College Writing Seminar (CWS).  Students must complete a Visiting Student form available from the Registrar’s Office and have it signed, or provide a letter from the Principal or Guidance Counselor of their school.  They must also meet their school’s requirements to participate in this program.  The bill is sent directly to students for payment.

Dual Enrollment Program

School Districts who apply for Pennsylvania Department of Education grant money for Dual Enrollment each academic year can provide opportunities for a broad range of students, for the capable and not just for the exceptional, to experience postsecondary coursework.  Through the grant, school districts are responsible for paying tuition (set at the state rate), books, and fees.  The bill is sent directly to the school district. Please contact your school guidance office for more information.   Participating schools for 2006-07 include Huntingdon, Juniata County, Juniata Valley and Mount Union.
